Creating the perfect look for your shop front or entrance begins at the design stage. We can design a bespoke shop front or welcoming entrance that is tailored to your specific needs using the latest computer aided design (CAD) software. Our capabilities also include powder coating allowing you to design your entrance or shop front in corporate colours from our wide range of RAL and British standard colour palettes.

One of the most important considerations during the design phase is the analysis and accurate characterisation of your typical customer and figuring out what aesthetic they respond to. What’s going to attract them and make them want to come into the store or business? For instance, if you are in the business of technology, your design might entail sleek components such as glass or shiny steel or aluminium that portray images of sophistication and class. If you are in a craft business, you might want to employ materials such as wood and have more intricate design elements that will appeal to those customers you wish to do business with. If you are trying to appeal to children then perhaps colourful and whimsical design would be more appropriate.

We make practical considerations, like what materials will best convey the image you are trying to portray. What is inherent in the space that lends itself to any particular design?

If it’s completely new construction, you may have more options than if you are re-modelling or trying to retrofit an existing building.

Part of our service is to do a comprehensive site survey which will look at the feasibility of different designs. For instance it may reveal whether it would be better to use automatic swing doors instead of automatic sliding doors. It may indicate that aluminium would be a better choice for the store front than frameless glass.

The design phase is the time to consider the costs involved. It is much less expensive to test out different designs on paper than to get half way through a project and then discover the cost will be too high. We are able to estimate material costs so you don’t get surprised midway through a project. Different materials can be tested and costed before construction and fabrication begin.

Because we use the latest in CAD software, you’ll see exactly what your project will look like ahead of time. The software produces a realistic and accurate rendition of the design and is able to project cost of materials accurately as well. Changes made in the design phase of a project cost much less than during construction. Our design team will work with you during this phase to advise you on all aspects of the project and to answer any questions you might have. Our designers are able to listen to your concepts and ideas and turn them into tangible designs on paper that you can then adjust as needed. It is our goal to achieve a design that you are perfectly happy with and meets the needs of your business.

All installations are subject to a technical survey. DRS will be happy to provide a free full survey of your business premises and your access requirements as part of our quotation.
